Robert Woods gets 4-year, $68 million deal

Lindsey Thiry of ESPN reports that the Rams and WR Robert Woods have agreed to a 4-year, $68 million extension, with $32 million guaranteed. The $68 million is the the maximum Woods can make.

Fantasy Impact:

The Rams continue to make a mockery of the NFL's salary cap by signing another player to a lucrative deal. The Rams now have a core offensive group that includes QB Jared Goof, WR Cooper Kupp, and Woods.

Rams expect WR Josh Reynolds to play more significant role

The Rams expect that Josh Reynolds will, or at least play a significantly increased role, this season.

Fantasy Impact:

The Rams think Reynolds can step in with the loss of Brandin Cooks to the Texans. A fourth-round pick in 2017, Reynolds served mostly as a backup the past three seasons, but filled in as a starter when needed. In 48 games, Reynolds caught 61 passes for 832 yards and seven touchdowns.

Rams WR Cooper Kupp (knee, doubtful) missed practice all week and is doubtful for Week 8. Josh Reynolds played 84% of the snaps last week but only saw one target. Whether or not Kupp is out, Brandin Cooks and Robert Woods will be great plays against the Packers (No. 29 in WR aFPA).

Reynolds should get most of Kupp’s snaps, but the Rams will probably kick Robert Woods to the slot and “sacrifice” Reynolds on Richard Sherman’s side of the field. Woods and Brandin Cooks look like WR1 plays this week.

Rams think WR Cooper Kupp will miss Week 7

Los Angeles Rams receiver Cooper Kupp suffered a knee sprain Sunday and could be sidelined for this week's game against the San Francisco 49ers, coach Sean McVay said.

"Most likely he probably will miss this game," McVay said Monday. "And then dependent on how he responds it will just kind of be on a week-to-week basis."

Kupp was carted off the field in the first half of the Rams' victory over the Denver Broncos after safety Darian Stewart brought him down with a horse-collar tackle. McVay said he initially thought the injury appeared as though it could have been season-ending. After evaluation, Kupp started the second half but played only one series after the training staff determined it was in his best interest to sit out, the story went on to say.

Rams’ WR Cooper Kupp suffered an MCL sprain Sunday and his team thinks he “could miss some time, but not sure yet,” per source.

Fantasy Impact:

If Kupp misses time, it would mean more targets for Cooks and Woods. MCL sprains can mean missing multiple weeks, but that's certainly doesn't seem official yet based on the tweet. However, he seems unlikely for Week 7, which is against the 49ers.
