Team news: Arizona Cardinals | Page 38

Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury told reporters Wednesday that RB James Conner (heel) and WR Rondale Moore (ankle) are expected to be game-day decisions Week 17.

Week 17's matchup is worse for Conner than Moore, but with the playoffs (and fantasy championships) in the balance, both are needed this week.

Labeled a game-time decision by head coach Kliff Kingsbury after missing practice all week, the starting back will miss tonight after expecting to play earlier today.

This will be a major boost to Chase Edmonds stock with the Colts missing two of their top defensive starters.

Labeled a game-time decision despite not practicing all week, Conner could see a reduced workload in a difficult matchup. Indianapolis has allowed the second-fewest rushing touchdowns this season.

Chase Edmonds who has worked through his own injuries recently will split work with Conner and both enter as more RB2/3 than RB1 given the matchup.

Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner is listed as questionable for their Week 16 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.

Conner is dealing with a heel issue and says that his ankle feels fine. He expects to play on Saturday but noted that the decision will come down to pain management. Conner has been excellent in 2021 and is the RB5 on the season, thanks in large part due to his penchant for finding the end zone. He may be limited if active but still offers RB2 appeal due to his touchdown upside. The Cardinals veteran running back is currently our 20th ranked running back for Week 16.

The Cardinals didn’t hold a practice on Tuesday, but they did issue an injury report because they will be hosting the Colts on Christmas.

That report says that running back James Conner would not have practiced because of a heel injury.

It’s a new ailment for Conner, who had eight carries for 39 yards and two catches for 31 yards in Arizona’s Week 15 loss to the Lions.

The Patriots have placed WR Kendrick Bourne, LB Harvey Langi, LB Cameron McGrone and LB Ronnie Perkins on the reserve/COVID list.

Bourne wasn't really a factor against the Bills in the wind in Week 14, but was back in the game plane this week with 44 receiving yards and 19 rushing yards against the Colts. Before that he was averaging about four catches a game since a breakout game on Sept. 26. He'll need to test positive before Week 16's game against Buffalo.

Jalen Hurts is set to start at quarterback against Washington on Tuesday night.

Hurts did not play in Week 13 because of an ankle injury and was limited in practice early last week.

But as the story said, he began working in full as the week went on and the two extra days to prepare for the game leave him on track to play. The Eagles did not give Hurts any injury designation for the game.

The activation will generate a committee in the backfield for Arizona. James Conner is dealing with an ankle injury of his own and should allow Edmonds a workload that is serviceable for fantasy against a exploitable Detroit run defense.

Edmonds could see RB1 usage of Conner ends up with an inactive tag. Monitor the status of the starting running back before confidently inserting Edmonds into your lineup.

Cardinals RB James Conner (ankle) and TE Zach Ertz (hamstring) are questionable for Week 15's game at the Detroit Lions.

Edmonds reportedly looked good at practice and could be activated for the game against Detroit. Ertz popped up on the injury report Friday so his status is one to watch carefully Sunday.
