Panthers rookie QB Matt Corral suffers ‘significant’ foot injury

Panthers rookie quarterback Matt Corral suffered a Lisfranc injury during Friday’s game against the Patriots.

Fantasy Impact:

It is likely a season-ending injury for Corral, as head coach Matt Rhule described the injury as “significant”. The Panthers traded into the third round of the 2022 draft to select the former Ole Miss quarterback, who shared playing time with P.J. Walker on Friday, as neither Baker Mayfield nor Sam Darnold played against the Patriots. Very unfortunate for Corral, but he should at least be in a competition for the starting quarterback job in 2023. Of course, that could also depend on who the head coach is in 2023.
