New Bills GM cleans slate, fires entire coaching staff

The Buffalo Bills opened their offseason with a purge by firing interim coach Perry Fewell and the rest of his staff Monday.

NFL.com's Vic Carucci reported that new Bills general manager Buddy Nix told the coaches to clean out their offices and leave the building, and the team later issued a statement that the coaches were free to look for other jobs.

"Each of the coaches is currently under contract, but they have been informed that they have the opportunity to seek positions elsewhere," the team said in the statement. "The status of each coach will be determined by the Bills' new head coach following the completion of the process."

The Bills also confirmed that although Fewell, who also was the defensive coordinator, still will be considered for the head-coaching job. Fewell went 3-4 as the interim coach
