Mahomes: Justin Watson a "pleasant surprise"

In an offseason with change at wide receiver, the Kansas City Chiefs may have an under-the-radar signing working out so far this offseason.

WR Justin Watson signed with K.C. prior to the Tyreek Hill trade, but showed flashes during OTAs. “He’s been a pleasant surprise for me,” Mahomes said. “That dude can roll. He came down to Texas. I threw with him the first day, and I called (general manager Brett) Veach and I was like, ‘Wait, how fast is this guy?’ He was running so fast that I was late on my throws. He’s had two great days.”

Fantasy Impact: 

Watson could not get on the field for offensive snaps in Tampa Bay, but finds himself going from the G.O.A.T. to a QB who is well on his way to challenging for that title. Unlike in Chicago or Atlanta where being a wideout gets you onto the field, competing in Kansas City is great for Watson's personal growth and worst-case, great audition film for his next team.

Watson has dynasty appeal for now, but with so much unknown in K.C., his fantasy value could skyrocket.
