Neither nickel corner Taron Johnson (ankle) or tight end Dalton Kincaid (thumb/shoulder) have an injury designation for Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys. Both are set to play despite being limited in practice all week.

The Kincaid/Knox tandem should continue to rule the gameplan as the Bills' "big slot" options, pushing Khalil Shakir down in playing time. Kincaid slides directly back into TE1 considerations.

Bills HC Sean McDermott says they are opening up the 21-day practice windows for TE Dawson Knox and CB Kaiir Elam, who are both on Injured Reserve.

As to whether or not either would play, McDermott preemptively said "We'll take it one day at a time."

Still sounds like it's up in the air when we'll see Knox back on the football field, and it wouldn't be unheard of if they take it easy as they aim for a playoff spot. Kincaid has been fantastic in Knox's absence, sitting at a 56-474-2 stat line; a great achievement for any rookie tight end.

Bills standout TE Dawson Knox, out tonight with a wrist injury that requires surgery, is likely to be placed on Injured Reserve. That would knock him out four games.

This has made Kincaid a popular waiver wire target ahead of Week 8, and for good reason, after he caught eight balls for 75 yards with Knox limited the week prior. Kincaid should be scooped in whatever leagues he is still available in.

There is no timeline for Knox. But any time missed should be good news for Kincaid owners. Kinkaid is coming of an 8-75-0 line where he was targeted eight times, second only to Stefon Diggs. It was his best fantasy production of the season, second to a 5-43-0 line back on Sept. 17. In more shallow leagues, Kincaid could be on your waiver wire.

Dalton Kincaid (80) and Dawson Knox (70) currently lead the team in routes ran out of the slot on the season, so if they both miss, they're going to need someone to step up in 3WR sets. Gabe Davis is playing far less out of the slot than he did earlier in his career, but has the requisite size to perform as the "big slot" if they need him to revert back into that player. He ran a season-high 34.8% of his routes out of the slot back in Week 4 during their 48-20 blowout win over the Dolphins.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott told reporters on a Monday video conference that Dalton Kincaid is in the concussion protocol and that Dawson Knox has a wrist injury.

McDermott said the team will monitor both players as they move toward their Sunday night game against the Giants in Week 6. Kincaid was cleared to return to the game, the story said, but will now enter protocol.
