Ben Johnson on the best stretch he's seen from Caleb Williams in training camp: "He’s really been locked in. Any time you’re a young player, there’s usually a couple steps forward and one step back, and that’s really been the story of his training camp. He and I have been really open and honest about that as we’ve gone through. He’s had some really good practices and he’s had a couple where it’s like, that’s not good enough. I thought, really, the three days of practice we had this week and this game were the most he’s stacked up – good days in a row – right now. The challenge is going to be keep pushing in that direction."
Fantasy Impact:
Williams had a nice showing against the Bills in a blowout win Sunday night, throwing for 107 yards and a TD and completing 6-of-10 passes. There will likely continue to be up and down moments for Williams this season, but the comments from Johnson and Williams' performances should give owners hope for their young fantasy QB. We have Williams ranked 16th among our QBs, but he certainly has the coach, the talent, and weapons around him to exceed expectations if things fall into place. At least right now, Williams makes for a solid QB2 option.
