DEN: WR Battle

With Brandon Marshall still trying to work through hip pain — he has not practiced since leaving the field Sunday morning — the Broncos' other WRs continue to battle to place themselves on the depth chart.

Eddie Royal is the team's No. 1 WR at this point — in both deed and alignment. The offense fits him, given his ability to run precision routes, and he has flashed big plays daily.

Every time he has the chance, Josh McDaniels extols the virtues of Jabar Gaffney's ability to play any WR spot in the offense, so he figures to get plenty of playing time as well.

Brandon Lloyd is a wild card at this point. A late signee in free agency, he has shown the ability to separate and go get the ball, especially in the scoring zone.

Combine that with the fact Brandon Stokley already is working as the 3rWR when the 1st-team offense goes 3 wide, that the Broncos used a draft pick on Kenny Mckinley and that Chad Jackson — a former second-round pick — has played in McDaniels' offense before, playing time and roster spots are going to be hard to come by.
