Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (hamstring, questionable) took limited practice reps all week and is questionable for Week 17. It appears that Murray may play but we wouldn't count on full snaps or production in what amounts to a meaningless game for both teams.
ARI QB Kyler Murray - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook
Week 17 at Los Angeles Rams
Kyler Murray was held to just 118 yards and a touchdown against the Seahawks last week, although he did add 40 yards on the ground. The Cardinals ran the ball effectively and led for virtually the whole game, giving Murray very little motivation to throw much. He’s been inconsistent throughout the year, at times showing brilliance, while being hesitant and looking overwhelmed at other times. His continued development will be something to watch eagerly next season, and he’d like to go out on a high note this week after winning his last two games.
The Rams rank 11th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks this season and they just held Jimmy Garoppolo to 248 yards, a touchdown and two picks last week, so this won’t be an easy matchup for Murray. He struggled against the Rams just four games ago, throwing for 163 yards and an interception, although he did run in a touchdown in a lopsided defeat. Murray’s questionable hamstring and difficult matchup make him risky to start in the championship, despite his ground production providing a nice floor for him in most weeks. If you can find someone healthier and in a good matchup, it might be wise to look elsewhere. We have him as a fringe-starter this week.
