Fantasy Football Tight End Streaming Week 6: Thomas Paces Commanders Catchers

Despite Travis Kelce missing much of his action during Sunday afternoon, we finally saw a palpable fantasy week from the tight end position. Through the season's first four weeks, an average of 5.25 tight ends scored double-digit half-PPR fantasy points. Week 5 saw a new season-high, with 10 options hitting that mark as some highly-drafted players finally became a focal point of their respective offenses. The typical top performers (Kelce, George Kittle, Dallas Goedert) had good showings, but the next tier(s) of players also hit paydirt, including Sam LaPorta, Darren Waller, and Kyle Pitts.

The “streamer” category also put up a few crooked numbers, and today, we will look for similar Week 6 options, with only two teams (Packers, Steelers) on a bye.

For streaming purposes, 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) is a metric we rely heavily on to determine weekly matchup strength. As the season progresses and more data is available, aFPA becomes more and more reliable, using rolling 10-week data. Targets and efficiency metrics are also considered when choosing weekly streamers.

Week 5 Recap

We got plenty of usable games in this space as the tight end position had a bit of a resurgence last week, with our lone disappointment coming from Luke Musgrave on Monday Night Football. With Musgrave on bye and Zach Ertz finally graduating out of streaming recommendation (50% rostered on Yahoo), we will have fewer options to choose from this week, but we will find some gems regardless.
