Streaming Tight Ends: Week 12 Targets

Turkey Day is upon us and the fantasy playoff season is fast approaching, which means we must be doing our best to identify and stream the highest quality options available on our leagues’ waiver wires. As your team’s record is sure to indicate, this is either a time to swing for the fences or a time to look ahead and make sure you have a solid tight end with favorable matchups on the horizon. For streaming purposes, 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) is a metric we rely heavily on to determine weekly matchup strength. As the season continues to progress and more data is available, aFPA becomes more and more reliable, using rolling 10-week data. Targets and efficiency metrics are also considered when choosing weekly streamers.

To provide advice you can actually implement, candidates for streaming must be rostered in no more than 40% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues.

Week 11 Review

An absolutely miserable week for streaming the position, as five of the top six scorers were rostered in more than 80% of leagues, with the lone exception being Adam Trautman, who we hit on. The rest of the streaming options were dreadful, including a zero target performance from Dan Arnold, who had accrued 25 targets in the previous three weeks. We trudge ahead to Thanksgiving week.

Evan Engram (Giants) vs. Eagles

Evan Engram hasn’t done a ton with his opportunities this season, but he’s still finding opportunity, which is the most important part of this play. The Eagles have allowed the most yards (748), receptions (77), and touchdowns (8) to the position, allowing tight ends to catch a league-leading 82.8% of the passes thrown their way. Adam Trautman, who hadn’t scored more than 6.7 fantasy points on the season finished last week as the TE3, accumulating 14.3 half-PPR fantasy points against this forgiving defense. Engram should be able to muster a top-12 performance. He is available in 68% of Yahoo! leagues.
