Chargers K Dustin Hopkins (hamstring) to miss 2-4 weeks

Kicker Dustin Hopkins was able to finish Monday night’s win over the Broncos despite suffering a hamstring injury in the first half.

But he’s going to be out for a while.

Via Lindsey Thiry of ESPN, head coach Brandon Staley said Tuesday that Hopkins will be out for two-to-four weeks with a hamstring strain.

Fantasy Impact:

Hopkins hit four field goals after his hamstring injury was announced during the second quarter, including the game-winner from 39-yards out in overtime. The Chargers have Bertolet on their practice squad, who made all three of his field goals and all three extra points in last Sunday’s victory over Cleveland.

Washington signs K Joey Slye

The Washington Football Team gambled three weeks ago by releasing veteran kicker Dustin Hopkins and replacing him with unproven Chris Blewitt. The move didn't work out, and Blewitt was released Tuesday after having three kicks blocked in his two games.

Washington signed veteran Joey Slye as its new kicker.

Fantasy Impact:

In six games with the Houston Texans and San Francisco 49ers this season, Slye was a combined 11-of-13 on field goals and 9-for-12 on extra points.
