On Thursday night, the Steelers host the Panthers to finish the preseason. After the game, Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will return to New York for a meeting with Commissioner Roger Goodell regarding whether Roethlisberger's six-game suspension will be cut to four games, according to Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com.

The Steelers will be informed of the decision before the start of the regular season. Either way, Roethlisberger will miss the first four games of the year.

It's widely believed that the suspension will be reduced. The Commissioner apparently has waited as long as possible in order to provide Roethlisberger will the maximum incentive to stay out of trouble. If Roethlisberger were to have a hiccup, the Commissioner would merely have to shrug his shoulders and say, "It's six games."

Once the suspension is reduced, any further problems from Roethlisberger would require the Commissioner to start the process from square one as to any further possible punishment.
