The coaches are very high on [Calvin Austin III]. Tomlin calls his trajectory "really exciting," and people I've talked to with the team noted that he gets open often. Austin just doesn't have the numbers (36 catches, 548 yards, 4 touchdowns) to reflect that ability. The offense will heavily feature DK Metcalf and the tight ends, but Austin will have chances with splash plays.

Fantasy Impact:

Austin is being asked to get open on vertical passing plays the story said as the offense is built around taking advantage of matchups. The Steelers WR2 may end up slotting in as the third option at best in this offense, however, with the addition of Smith at TE.

Rams extend RB Kyren Williams

The Rams have agreed to a three-year extension with RB Kyren Williams, a source confirms.

Fantasy Impact:

As Grosbard went on to say, the Rams lock in a key culture piece and their workhorse back for the long term. The initial numbers indicate the deal is worth $33 million with $23 million guaranteed according to Pro Football Talk. Williams' workload has been doubted for a couple of years now, but he continues to prove everyone wrong. He survived the drafting of Corum last season and must do so again with the addition of Hunter. The only thing that gives us pause is Williams' propensity to fumble the ball. He had five fumbles last year and three the year before, but in the season after the Rams drafted Corum, Williams handled a career-high 350 touches for 1,481 total yards and 16 touchdowns. Corum only averaged 3.6 yards per carry, so he didn’t do anything to justify a lead-back role in 2025. We rank Williams 12th among our RBs and it looks like he can be had in the early to mid third round of drafts.

Saints Beat: Right now, easy decision to start QB Spencer Rattler

Saints reporter Nick Underhill said he has some concerns about rookie QB Tyler Shough starting, and thinks it would be an easy decision to go with Spencer Rattler at QB.

The video went on to say it would make sense to start Rattler, who would be the safe pick, vs. starting Shough and having to pull him if he struggles early in the season. The video said Shough has not looked more ready than a second round pick should. Underhill, in other posts, has also said Rattler has clearly outplayed Shough so far in camp. The video went on to say Haener is clearly the third option right now. Granted it's still early and there is time, but starting Rattler early in the season makes the most sense versus throwing Shough into the fire if he's not ready.

Cowboys Javonte Williams still running as RB1

Fast forward to the 10th practice of Dallas' training camp on Monday, Javonte Williams is still in pole position and being creatively utilized in 11-on-11 team drills: he lined up on a pass play as the outside wide receiver with wide receiver George Pickens lined up inside in one formation.
