NFL announces that Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski has been suspended for one game for diving on Bills CB Tre'Davious White.

Fantasy Impact:

The suspension is well deserved but comes at a terrible time for fantasy owners who have a playoff game in Week 15. Streaming options include Cameron Brate (vs. DET), Austin Seferian-Jenkins (@ DAL), Ricky Seals-Jones (vs. TEN), Julius Thomas (vs. NE), David Njoku (vs. GB), Dwayne Allen (@ MIA) and Stephen Anderson (vs. SF, C.J. Fiedorowicz likely out). Another very good option would be Trey Burton (@ LAR) if Zach Ertz is out with a concussion. Delanie Walker may have re-injured his ankle, so Jonnu Smith (@ARI) is on the streaming radar as well.

Former Bears and Packers TE Robert Tonyan signed with the Vikings.

Fantasy Impact:

Good move by Minnesota to solidify their pass-catching tight ends while Hockenson works his way back to the field. Tonyan had a down year behind Cole Kmet last season but should be able to rotate in toward the beginning of the year with Oliver and Mundt.

Bills sign WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling to one-year deal

The Buffalo Bills are signing former Chiefs WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling a 1 year deal worth up to $4.5 million, including a $1.125 million signing bonus.

Fantasy Impact:

We can basically look at this as a Gabe Davis replacement, but not exactly an upgrade. MVS will stretch defenses but shouldn't be considered anything more than a late-round best ball dart throw.

Lions signing QB Jared Goff to four-year extension

The Detroit Lions are signing quarterback Jared Goff to a four-year, $212 million contract extension that includes $170 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday.

The deal makes the 2016 No. 1 pick the highest-paid player in franchise history.

Fantasy Impact:

The Lions lock up veteran QB Goff, and this is good news for the continued growth of Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta, and the rest of the offense. The quarterback should be considered a strong QB2 option and will have streaming opportunities throughout 2024.
