Texans QB C.J. Stroud still in concussion protocol

Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud missed Sunday’s comeback win over the Jaguars with a concussion and his status for Week 11 remains unclear on Monday.

Head coach DeMeco Ryans said at a Monday press conference that Stroud remains in the concussion protocol. He will have to clear it in order to play in Nashville against the Titans this week.

Fantasy Impact:

Mills played pretty well filling in for Stroud and would have a nice matchup this week if Stroud is unable to return. Stroud didn't look good after a taking a late hit in Week 9's game, and so it's not surprising, based on that, he would need more time. We'll hopefully know more later this week.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow is returning to practice this week — a major step towards playing again later this season.

Fantasy Impact:

Burrow’s recovery from turf toe surgery is on track and now Cincinnati will open Burrow’s 21-day practice window in hopes of having him in action sometime next month, the post went on to say. Burrow will likely be limited for bit in practice, but was was given a timeline to return in December. If the team uses the full practice window, it means Burrow could return Dec. 7, which is Week 14, when the Bengals travel to Buffalo.

Brian Daboll’s tenure as the head coach of the New York Giants has come to an end.

Daboll was fired today, one day after a loss to the Bears that was the latest in the Giants’ string of blown leads this season.

Fantasy Impact:

Mike Kafka will take over as the team's interim head coach. The Giants are 2-8 this season and 20-40-1 in Daboll’s three and a half seasons as head coach. Daboll also went 1-1 in the playoffs after his first season at the helm of the Giants in 2022, but it's been a string of recent losses where the Giants have shown to be competitive, while also losing leads late in games that looked like they could be victories.

The post went on to say Irving, who was injured back in Week 4, has to be able to take a hit before returning, and that it's too soon to know if that will be this week or not. It certainly doesn't paint a great picture for those who were hoping Irving would be back in Week 11, but we'll need to see the injury reports this week to know for sure. It looks like White and Tucker could be handling the RB duties again as the Bucs travel to Buffalo.
