Jets QB Justin Fields has been cleared from the concussion protocol and will start Monday against the Dolphins, head coach Aaron Glenn said Saturday.

Fields missed the Jets’ Week 3 loss against the Buccaneers after suffering the concussion in Week 2 against the Bills. Fields was a full participant in practice Thursday and Friday, making him ready to go against the Dolphins with one more day of practice with the game being on Monday. It’s a good matchup for Fields as Miami has struggled quite a bit on defense through three games. Fields can be viewed as a QB2 this week.

HC Aaron Glenn later reiterated that Fields would start if cleared before Monday, so it seems like there's a good chance he suits up for Week 4. If he's cleared before we have to set lineups on Sunday morning, we can inch him up to a low-end QB1 in what should be a pretty nice matchup.

It's officially Tyrod Time in New York, but that shouldn't inspire us to stream him in any but the deepest leagues. On 16 Week 2 dropbacks, the veteran back-up completed seven passes and took two sacks.

New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields’ status for next week’s game against Tampa Bay is up in the air after he left Sunday’s loss to Buffalo early in the fourth quarter to be evaluated for a concussion. On Monday morning, head coach Aaron Glenn said Fields was in concussion protocol.

Fields took a hit from Bills defensive end Joey Bosa before being led to the medical tent and later the locker room. He completed 3-of-11 passes for 27 yards and also led the Jets with 49 rushing yards on five carries before he exited. Typically, we see players miss the following week when they are in concussion protocol, so Fields owners will want to monitor him over the week. Owners should probably come up with a backup plan in the event Fields needs to sit out Week 3, which is an early game on the road against the Bucs.

Jets coach Aaron Glenn told reporters that QB Tyrod Taylor had a knee procedure and they hope he’ll be ready for Week 1. But his preseason is over.

Those looking to backup Fields on their fantasy roster will need to keep an eye on this situation. It's good news he should be ready to go for Week 1, but just in case, Cook or Martinez would likely serve as the team's QB2 - unless the Jets make another move.

Justin Fields is participating in the 11-on-11 during walkthrough — it’s basically a jog though. TBD on if he’s full go. But he’s on a good track.

This is a good sign after last week's toe injury scare, as there's still plenty of time to get him all the way up to full speed. Projecting high passing totals will be a little iffy, but we know what kind of floor he creates with his legs, making him a fringe QB1 option.

Notable that Justin Fields is not walking with a limp and seems to be moving around ok.

Good news for Fields' availability through the rest of camp, but they may end up limiting his action in contact drills for a bit. Unless something changes, we should keep him right in line with where we had him ranked before this injury scare.

Justin Fields sustained a dislocated toe in his right foot and will be day-to-day. Fields avoided serious injury and significant missed time.

Great news out of Jets camp, as we all know how valuable Fields can be as a fantasy player when he's suited up. We'll keep an eye on the situation, but this doesn't seem like it will impact his Week 1 status.

Not a good start for Fields' Jets tenure, but he was at least walking prior to this, so hopefully it's more of a precaution than anything. We'll keep an eye on it moving forward, but veteran Tyrod Taylor would be next in line if this is more serious than just rolling an ankle.

The Jets ran the ball less than any team last season. The biggest reason for that (Aaron Rodgers) is gone. It would not shock me if the Jets went from last to first in terms of rushing attempts — the product of a run-first scheme led by offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand, and the dynamic, dual-threat quarterbacking of Justin Fields in the fray. The Jets are modeling their offense after the one Engstrand and Aaron Glenn came from in Detroit, where, in theory at least, Breece Hall would play the Jahmyr Gibbs role while Braelon Allen would step in as the David Montgomery, power-running type. — Zack Rosenblatt

Those are pretty big expectations, but the thought of it is exciting. Rosenblatt went on to say Allen was a training camp breakout last year who never got a chance to get going in a bad offense, but he’ll have plenty of opportunities in 2025 to make his mark and prove he can be the long-term starter with Hall in the last year of his contract.
