Squirrel’s Nuts & Bolts: Jets - Patriots Showdown Strategy (Week 11 NFL DFS)
Week 11 of the NFL season kicks off with an AFC East showdown between the Jets and Patriots in Foxborough. Despite this being a matchup between the first-place Patriots and the comically dysfunctional Jets, it’s worth noting that both teams are on winning streaks, as New York has won two games in a row while New England has won seven games in a row. Still, the expectations are clear as the Patriots enter as 12.5-point home favorites, with the total set at 43.5 points.
The Patriots’ offense starts with Drake Maye, who is in the MVP race and ranks third in the league in passing yards and tied for third in passing touchdowns. Maye has spread the ball out to his receivers this season, with WR Stefon Diggs leading the way with 50 receptions and 554 receiving yards. Kayshon Boutte is expected to miss another game with his hamstring injury, and TE Hunter Henry and WRs Mack Hollins and Kyle Williams all played increased snaps last week in Boutte’s absence. Rhamondre Stevenson is expected to miss another game as well, solidifying the running game behind talented rookie TreVeyon Henderson, who put up 147 rushing yards and two touchdowns last week.
The offense for the Jets is a mess, with the team putting up the fifth-fewest yards per game and reluctant to name a starting QB until game time. I’m assuming that Justin Fields will start again, but with WR Garrett Wilson now injured, the receiving options for New York are thin. TE Mason Taylor has the most receiving yards (246) of the remaining Jets, and Tyler Johnson has the most receiving yards (187) among the healthy wide receivers. RB Breece Hall leads the running game, but is facing a Patriots defense that allows the fewest rushing yards per game.
While this seems like a straightforward game of two mismatched teams, we’ve seen in the past that divisional primetime games can sometimes get weird. Let’s break down this AFC East showdown, highlight the key plays, and uncover the strategies that could help you climb the leaderboards.
