The Best Wide Receiver to Take in Every Round of Your Fantasy Football Draft

After 2024's "Return of the Running Back," we've seen a slight shift in draft strategy this fantasy season. Last year, six of the first nine picks and exactly 20 of the top 40 were wideouts. Now, in mid-August, only four of the first nine and 16 of the top 40 are receivers. It's changed the landscape — a little — and there are WR values to be found across the draft board.
So, which ones should you be taking, and when? I've highlighted my favorite wide receiver to take in every single round, at the current cost. Let's get into it.
*Note: I'm using 4for4's Multi-Site tool for ADP.
Round 1: CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys
CeeDee Lamb is my WR1 overall and a strong contender for my No. 1 pick at any position, but is often available at WR2 or WR3 in the middle of the round. He's the top target for what could be the top passing offense in the league, and was the WR1 overall just two years ago. Easy choice.
Round 2: Nico Collins, Houston Texans
While this might have once been Ladd McConkey, the addition of Keenan Allen hurt his upside, so I'll pivot to my WR4 overall, Nico Collins. After missing five games in a year that CJ Stroud slumped, Collins is being underappreciated heading into 2025. He's averaged 1.9 fantasy points per target the last two years — highest in the league among 116 WRs with 60+ targets. A smash pick on the one-two turn, with legitimate WR1 overall upside.
