Week 3 Fantasy Football Sneaky Starts & Sleepers
All but the luckiest fantasy owners at some point need to find the proverbial diamond in the rough—a waiver wire or bench player capable of putting up some points in a pinch. This weekly feature is dedicated to that part of fantasy football. It's not pretty, but it's part of the game.
Last week, several of my Sneaky Starts delivered big games, including Jared Goff, Geno Smith, Jordan Love, Raheem Mostert, Gus Edwards, Zack Moss, Puka Nacua, and Hunter Henry. Let’s see who might surprise in Week 3.
Quarterbacks
Jared Goff, Lions (vs. ATL)
In 10 home games since last season, Jared Goff has averaged 280 yards and 2.6 passing touchdowns per game. He’s averaging 21.0 fantasy points per game (PPG) in that span; only four quarterbacks—Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and Joe Burrow—averaged more than 21.0 PPG last year.
