Steelers send 2025 second-round pick to Seahawks for WR DK Metcalf

The Steelers are sending a 2025 second-round pick to Seattle in exchange for WR DK Metcalf.

Pittsburgh will sign Metcalf to a five-year, $150 million extension, per source.

Fantasy Impact:

It was reported that Metcalf wanted to play "somewhere warm" with a competitive quarterback, and the Steelers have exactly zero of those things. Metcalf will battle Pickens as Pittsburgh's WR1, with Justin Fields possibly in pole position as the starting QB. Metcalf should be considered in fringe WR2/3 range.

Fantasy Impact:

The Steelers WR room looks a little more palatable with Pickens in the lineup, but it's still not enough to push Russell Wilson above deep-league SuperFlex territory. Consider Pickens a WR3 for Week 17.

George Pickens and DeShon Elliott were a full participants in today's walk through.

Fantasy Impact:

It's great news for the Steeler offense that Pickens looks to be on track to play in Week 17. The hope would be Pickens is able to log a full workload in the game as well, which is a Christmas Day contest against the Chiefs. It's not the best matchup coming off an injury but Pickens should be back as the team's WR1.

The Steelers ruled out WR George Pickens and QB Justin Fields for Saturday vs. Baltimore.

OLB T.J. Watt (ankle) is off the injury report and will play.

Fantasy Impact:

We really can't trust any of these ancillary pieces with Pickens missing, and it comes as a huge downgrade to Russell Wilson and the offense, in general.
