Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (back, forearm) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Gronk is questionable to doubtful depending on who you believe. We're skeptical that he'll be back this week, though if he's in the lineup, he's pretty much a must start given his usual per game production.

49ers WR Mike Evans, who left the game earlier, is dealing with a rib strain, source said. He’ll have a full evaluation tomorrow, but those can be painful.

Fantasy Impact:

Evans is officially day to day Rapoport said in follow-up post. It sounds like he could have a shot to play in Week 4, but as Rapoport noted, this can be a painful injury. We'll probably have to watch the injury report all week when it comes to Evans and his status. The Niners host the Broncos in the later window of Week 4.

Gordon will be a popular pickup this week in waivers, and at least for the short term could benefit the most in terms of workload. But this is looking like it's heading to a committee. Wright missed Week 3 with a stinger and foot injury and we don't yet know his status for Week 4. The team also has Hunter who was a prospect with the Rams before signing with the Dolphins practice squad. Hunter could jump right into action as the RB2 if Wright is out again this week. With all the injuries to RBs lately, it's worth taking a flier on any of the three.

It's no surprise Winston will remain the starter for now. But there is a path for McCarthy to get his shot, it just depends on how the Giants season goes over the next few weeks. Winston will likely remain the starter if he can keep the Giants winning and hanging around a playoff spot. But Winston has not put up great numbers so far. He looked overwhelmed coming in for relief of Jaxson Dart in Week 2, and in Week 3 played in rain and wind. The Giants host the Cardinals in Week 4, and it may be game where Winston can get himself on track.
