“I’m not exactly sure,’’ coach Romeo Crennel said when asked why Charles wasn’t involved. “We were rotating our backs in there. Hillis was back and he was able to get some carries. He was somewhat effective. When a guy’s effective, we kind of stay with him a little bit. Hillis was able to run through there and break some tackles and get some things done.’’

But Hillis only got four carries, one fewer than Charles.

Charles was still playing late in the game, even though he wasn’t getting the ball much. He got it just once in the second half.

Fantasy Impact:

The Chiefs usage of Charles is mind-boggling, but the Chiefs only handed the ball off 13 times total in their loss to the Raiders and Charles did lead RBs with 5 carries. Charles is healthy and has a nice schedule the rest of the way outside of a tough matchup with the Broncos in week 12. We'll be watching Thursday night against the Chargers to see if the Chiefs make giving Jamaal touches a priority. Charles has posted monster fantasy days each of the three weeks he has racked up 20 or more touches.
