Adrian Peterson still is nursing a sore ankle but he said he woke up Monday feeling much better than he had after the previous two games, though he sat out practice Tuesday.

The short turnaround to Thursday night's game against Tampa Bay at the Metrodome meant extra treatment and limited work Tuesday during the Vikings' only practice of the week.

Still, Frazier said the club does not need to manage Peterson's workload anymore in games.

"I do feel like we're at that point now where we don't have to be overly concerned about the number of snaps, but we always have to be conscious of fatigue and looking ahead," he said. "But for the moment, I don't think we feel we have to pull the reins back for any reasons. He's come a long way."

Fantasy Impact:

Peterson rushed for 153 yards on 23 carries in Minnesota's 21-14 victory Sunday. It validated the Vikings run-heavy strategy and signaled Peterson has graduated from recovery to the next phase of his career following Dec. 30 reconstructive knee surgery.
