Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said "all indications are" wide receiver Jerome Simpson will play Sunday, Oct. 14, at Washington after treating a back injury that numbed and weakened his right leg, essentially eliminating the team's No. 1 downfield option in its victory over the Titans.

Simpson was held out of Wednesday's practice although Frazier told reporters the receiver is expected to return to the field by the end of the week.

"We don't think it's anything long term. We just want him to continue to go through some of the exercises (Vikings trainer) Eric Sugarman and his staff will take him through today," Frazier said. "We may get him back at practice tomorrow and, hopefully, for sure on Friday."
