News Democrat: Rams WR/KR Derek Stanley has a torn ACL and torn
cartilage in his knee. Rams coach Jim Haslett said Stanley will
have surgery in the next 2-3 weeks, and it'll take 6-8 months for
him to recover from the injury. "That's a shame because I thought
the kid was coming on,'' Haslett said. "Lee Evans, another
receiver and friend of his had it, so he kind of knows what
(Evans) went through. He'll have to fight his way back. That's a
tough injury for him.'' Stanley will become the 11th player
placed on injured reserve by the Rams this season. Stanley
suffered the injury on an end around in the first quarter of the
Rams' 23-20 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Seattle's
Jordan Babineaux picked up the loose ball and ran 24 yards for a
touchdown. Haslett said that Dane Looker will return punts and
Kenneth Darby will return kickoffs in Stanley's absence.
