Tyson has been a standout during training camp, so it's a potential big loss at least early on for the offense, with a mid-October return looking like a possibility. Tyson, who has been consulting with experts, could begin the season on short-term Injured Reserve, according to Rapoport. Vele could move into the WR2 role after flashing at times last season coming over from the Broncos. Lance and Brown are also rookie WRs who could get a chance.

Expected to miss multiple weeks.

Fowler went on to say, per the MRI the outcome is considered positive after a recent practice injury, even though initial reports said he'd be OK. Swift and Johnson will handle the workload until Monangai can come back and reclaim what will likely be his RB2 role before Swift.
Reporter Connor Hughes said after today practice that Malachi Fields has pretty much taken over as the WR2.
Related players: Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton, Darnell Mooney
Hughes said the coaches love Fields and he keeps making plays. The team has high expectations for Fields this season, and he's pretty much out there with Jaxon Dart all the time at practice. Nabers should be the WR1 assuming he can get back to full strength, and he was in full-speed drills today, Hughes added in the same report. It looks like Fields has already jumped over Stayton and Mooney in the pecking order, but it's something to continue to watch.
