49ers RB Matt Breida (ankle) did not practice Wednesday. It appears that Matt Breida will miss 1-2 weeks with another ankle injury, and that means that Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson should each move up one spot in the 49ers' depth chart. With Tevin Coleman out Week 2 and Week 3, Mostert had 28 touches (3 catches) for 230 yards and a touchdown, so he's very much in the spot-start mix as a high-end RB3/flex. Wilson had FOUR rushing touchdowns in those two games, so he has multi-touchdown upside even though his yardage (52) wasn't much to write home about.

Fantasy Impact:

Breida continues to have issues with his ankle. If he can't go at home in Week 11 against the Cardinals, Coleman likely picks up more of the workload with Mostert also factoring in as well as possibly Wilson.

49ers RB Matt Breida (ankle, questionable) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Raheem Mostert (knee, questionable) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Both players are listed as questionable, so it's not clear who will back up Tevin Coleman on Thursday night. It could be Breida, Mostert, both, or neither, with Jeff Wilson getting the not if both Breida and Mostert are inactive. Whoever is the No. 2 will have some RB3/flex value with big upside given the potency of the San Francisco running game.

Fantasy Impact:

The 49ers didn't actually practice as they face the Cardinals on Thursday night. Not on the report is Wilson, who was banged up on Sunday against the Panthers with a head injury as we reported yesterday. Coleman is coming off a monster game in Week 8 and would benefit the most should any of these guys not be able to play on a short week.

San Francisco 49ers running Matt Breida suffered an ankle injury vs. the Panthers and did not return. Running back Jeff Wilson Jr. was evaluated for a head injury.

Fantasy Impact:

HC Kyle Shanahan said it was a stinger that kept Wilson from returning to the game. Reports said Breida wanted to get back into the game but the team kept him out because of the score. While this normally seems like good news, the 9ers play on a short week against the Cards on Thursday so it's possible both guys just aren't ready on a short turnaround. Coleman and Mostert could be in store for bigger workloads Thursday night but it's something for owners to monitor.

49ers RB Matt Breida clears protocol but suffers eye injury

The 49ers got good news on their top running back. Matt Breida was evaluated for a head injury in the third quarter Sunday against Washington.

Breida cleared concussion protocol which is the good news, but he’s not out of the woods injury-wise. He was poked in the eye during the game and is questionable to return, the team announced.

Fantasy Impact:

Breida missed a big part of the game dealing with the injuries leaving Coleman to finish with 20 carries, but only producing 62 yards.

Fantasy Impact:

It's a crowded backfield if Coleman does play, and assuming Wilson, Breida and Mostert are all active. Wilson has been getting the goal line work but it's anyone else's guess how the rest of the workload will be split up. The MNF inactives could give us a better clue around an hour-and-a-half before game time.
