Titans owner stands behind 'future QB'

Then Titans owner Bud Adams showed he still has the back of his embattled quarterback, who turned in an impressive performance in a 27-20 preseason victory over the Buccaneers on Saturday night at LP Field.

Young helped erase what had been a sluggish night for the first-team offense. And in a visit to the locker room after the game, Adams said he still believes in the team's first-round pick from 2006.

Asked if there's any scenario in which Young is not on the roster this fall, Adams replied: "What do you mean not on the team? He's under contract. He is not going anywhere but right here. He is our future quarterback."

Adams said starting quarterback Kerry Collins "is getting some age on him, but he is still a great quarterback. But Vince is a young man and he can be a great quarterback before he gets through with his NFL career.''
