Browns coach Kevin Stefanski tells reporters that Dorian Thompson-Robinson is out of the concussion protocol and he won't name a starter. Joe Flacco, obviously, would be the other option.

We should figure that Flacco gets the Week 14 start after how —relatively—well he moved the offense last week, but it looks like it's still up in the air as of Friday afternoon.

Quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson remains in concussion protocol, Stefanski told reporters in his video conference on Monday. But Stefanski noted he wasn’t going to make any announcements about the team’s QB at this point.

Flacco could be in line to start again in Week 14 if DTR isn't ready to go. Flacco was elevated to the active roster to start Sunday’s loss to the Rams, finishing the contest 23-of-44 for 254 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. We may not find out the starter until later this week, however.

What a world. We last saw Flacco in New York when he started four games for the Jets last season. He threw five touchdowns (four coming in one game), three interceptions and completed 57.6% of his pass attempts for 5.5 yards per attempt.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson had shown growth and an improved comfort level in Denver before suffering the concussion, but the Browns weren’t exactly lighting up the scoreboard. P.J. Walker did little in relief except turn it over and take a safety. And, frankly, the game was pretty much over by the time he could get loose. Nothing Stefanski has done or said indicates he wants to go back to Walker, but he might have to.

Flacco is the wild card. If DTR can't clear protocol, it's possible Flacco could get the start. But the bigger question is can the team get Flacco ready in time and can he quickly develop chemistry with the receivers. Flacco isn’t mobile, but he’s always had a big arm. The story said he was not in a training camp and had been at home in New Jersey awaiting the kind of call he received from the Browns. The story added Walker hasn’t been afraid to throw downfield, but he’s completing only 48.6 percent of his passes and has thrown five interceptions and just one touchdown. No matter who starts at this point, they aren't necessarily a great fantasy option in typical leagues. However in deeper, two QB or superflex leagues, there is always a need for a starting QB who may be on the waiver wire.

Hearing the Browns will start Dorian Thompson-Robinson vs. Steelers. I asked him before Seahawks game how it'd be different: "Night and day. It'll be a clear difference. I finally got my feet wet. I know what to do. I know what to study when I go out there."

It was all but a certainty that P.J. Walker would get his third start of the season, but it doesn't seem that's the case. Thompson-Robinson is an exciting option for fantasy, but not necessarily for his pass-catchers. In his one start back in Week 4, he completed 52.8% of his passes for three interceptions, but did rush for 24 yards. The Browns will continue to lean on their defense in this post-Deshaun Watson world, but that's not going to matter if the offense only scores three points, as they did in DTR's first start.

Deshaun Watson has missed the last two games with a right shoulder injury and a report last week indicated that a rotator cuff contusion could keep him out for multiple games. Another report over the weekend said that Watson may return to face the Colts in Week 7, but Kevin Stefanski only said that Watson’s status will be monitored throughout the week.

“Deshaun’s continuing his rehab. He’s day-to-day. We’ll know more as the week progresses,” Stefanski said, via 92.3 The Fan.

There isn't a lot of new information here about Watson and a possible return in Week 7. The story said there are conflicting reports when it comes to the Browns QB. If Watson can't go in Week 7, Walker would likely get the start again.

The Browns play the 49ers so the opponent could have everything to do with the team not wanting to play rookie Thompson-Robinson, who tossed three interceptions in his first start. Watson was reportedly cleared to play but said he wasn't ready in Week 4. It may not be a good sign for Watson's Week 6 status if the Browns are already making plans to turn to Walker. Watson's shoulder injury is considered to be short-term.

Stefanski added Watson is "day to day, working hard, getting better." Watson was reportedly cleared to play in Week 4 before the team's Week 5 bye, but Watson didn't feel he was ready to go. Thompson-Robinson would get the start if Watson is unable to play in Week 6. It's not a great matchup as the Brown return, they host the 49ers in an early Sunday game.

Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson got away with shoving an official during Monday night’s game.

In the third quarter, Watson was flagged for unnecessary roughness for grabbing the facemask of Pittsburgh’s Kwon Alexander and holding onto it even after both players were out of bounds on the Steelers’ sideline. After the play, Watson lingered near the sideline and exchanged words with the Steelers.

At that point umpire Barry Anderson stepped in front of Watson and tried to direct him back to the field, and Watson shoved Anderson to the side to continue jawing with Steelers players.

Watson was not flagged for the shove, even though the NFL rulebook says under the “Prohibited acts” section that “Under no circumstance is a player allowed to shove, push, or strike an official” and that “The player shall be disqualified from the game,” the story went on to say. The story added the missed shove seems like a blown call and the league office may hand down its own discipline. Pro Football Talk went on to say on X, "All plays will be evaluated and assessed today."
