Minshew didn't look as good in Week 3 as he had in emergency duty the previous week, but the Colts still got the win. Richardson was emerging as a fantasy star before taking a hit that gave him the concussion back in Week 2. If he's active, he is a shoo-in as a top-ten option due to his rushing prowess.

Richardson's head hit the turf when falling to the ground on his second touchdown run. Richardson came back into the game but later self-diagnosed his symptoms, according to Good Morning Football, before leaving the game. Minshew filled in nicely the rest of the way and would get the start if Richardson has to miss any time.

Gardner Minshew is now in at quarterback while Richardson goes through the concussion protocol. The injury appeared to occur during Richardson’s second touchdown run. Richardson was off to a strong start with those two touchdown runs, already giving him three rushing touchdowns for the season. We’ll get more word as it becomes available.

Anthony Richardson and Shane Steichen both said after the loss to the Jaguars that Richardson was fine, and the coach reiterated Monday the quarterback is fine.

Steichen said Richardson has knee and ankle soreness and could have returned to the game.

Richardson was sacked four times and took six quarterback hits in his debut Sunday. He also had 10 carries. Richardson hit his knee on the turf in the first quarter and endured a hit on his ankle late in the game. Richardson missed the final three plays for precautionary reasons after Jaguars safety Andre Cisco hit Richardson on a scramble as he neared the goal line with 59 seconds left.

Richardson told reporters about the knee bruise but he will be fine. He left the game in the final minute and backup Gardner Minshew closed out the game, a 31-21 loss. Richardson threw for 223 yards and a touchdown with one interception. The Colts head to Houston next week for a date with the Texans.

It's not much of a surprise, but the Indianapolis Colts have made it official, naming rookie Anthony Richardson their starting quarterback for Week 1 of the 2023 regular season.

According to our own John Paulsen: Richardson throws a nice deep ball, but according to the experts he misses too many “layups” on shorter throws given his scattershot accuracy. His rookie quarterback model projects 29.3 rushing yards per game, though it should be noted that the model underpredicted Jalen Hurts by about 17%, projecting 43.3 rushing yards to his actual 52.3 rushing yards per game in his first season as the Eagles’ starter. That’s relevant because Richardson will play for Shane Steichen, who was previously the offensive coordinator for the Eagles. If Steichen runs Richardson over projection by the same amount, he could be looking at roughly 34 yards per game. That number could rise further if Steichen elects to run Richardson as much as he did with Hurts–10.1 attempts per game from 2021-22.

Richardson comes in as our QB12 making him a low-end QB1 this fantasy season.
