Packers WRs Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison both practice Thursday

Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison were surprise participants in practice after indications were they would both be in the rehab group because of their hamstring injuries. They even took some reps in the 11-on-11 unit drill.

Fantasy Impact:

It seems that Allison's concussion is no longer his primary concern. If Thursday's practice went well for the pair of pass catchers, it puts them on track to play Monday night. If that comes to pass, look for Cobb to enter the WR2/3 conversation with Allison more of a WR3/4. Keep an eye on Friday's practice reports for more information.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) took full practice reps again Friday. Rodgers is good to go for Sunday’s tilt with the Lions. We know Randall Cobb is out, while Davante Adams is questionable with a calf injury and Geronimo Allison is trying to make it through concussion protocol in time to play against Detroit. If either player misses the game, we’ll have to downgrade Rodgers to a low-end QB1. Don’t be surprised if the Packers take a run-heavy approach given the matchup against the Lions, who have given up the most rushing yardage through four weeks.

Packers WR Geronimo Allison (concussion, hamstring, questionable) missed practice all week and is questionable for Week 5. We know Randall Cobb (hamstring, out) is out, so Allison’s availability is key for Aaron Rodgers and Co. If he can’t play, Marquez Valdes-Scantling would likely see more targets headed his way. “MVS” should see a 70%+ snap share even if Allison is able to clear concussion protocol and play on Sunday.

Randall Cobb (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday, coach Mike McCarthy said. Davante Adams (calf) will practice on Saturday, and there's hope for Geronimo Allison (concussion).

Fantasy Impact:

We don't have any real read on what is going to happen with the Packers this weekend, but we do know that whoever is out there, they will see an increased workload without Randall Cobb in the lineup. Keep an eye on 4for4 Saturday for further updates on Allison and Adams and to find out where Marquez Valdes-Scantling, J'Mon Moore and Equnimeous St. Brown would fall in our rankings should one or both of the starting receivers sit.

Packers WR Davante Adams (calf) missed practice Thursday after taking limited reps Wednesday. Geronimo Allison (concussion) missed practice again Thursday. Randall Cobb (hamstring) missed practice again Thursday. Marquez Valdes-Scantling is clearly the next man up if Cobb and Allison can't play. He made a splash in the preseason and could kick outside if both Cobb and Allison are out and the Packers use Ty Montgomery in the slot. If that happens, he'll see a lot of Nevin Lawson with Darius Slay shadowing Adams. Montgomery is a Sneaky Start as well, since he has experience as a receiver and could fill in for a week or two.

Packers WR Randall Cobb (who popped up on the injury report this week with a hamstring injury), did not practice today. He’s listed as questionable, but he hasn’t practiced since Thursday.

Fantasy Impact:

According to the injury report, Cobb turned in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. Not practicing today is officially a step in the wrong direction for his Week 4 availability. According to Graham Barfield, 22 of Cobb’s 27 total passing looks have come via the slot. Jimmy Graham has run 68 percent of his routes from the slot this year.

Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring, questionable) missed practice Friday after taking limited reps Thursday and is questionable for Week 4. This was a midweek downgrade, so it’s worrisome. If he’s out, Geronimo Allison and Marquez Valdes-Scantling would likely pick up the slack. Allison would likely kick to the slot where he’d have a nice matchup with Taron Johnson.

Due to a hamstring injury suffered in practice Thursday, Randall Cobb missed Friday practice and has been listed as questionable for Week 4.

Fantasy Impact:

It's looking like Cobb isn't all that likely to play this weekend. Assuming that is the case, Geronimo Allison becomes a higher-floor option and pushes up to WR3 status from his current spot in our rankings. The only other receiver to play a snap on offense for the Packers this year is Marquez Valdes-Scantling. He isn't a fantasy option unless you are in a very, very deep league. One other player who might see a boost is one Ty Montgomery. He isn't startable in 99 percent of leagues, but if he picks up some slot usage, Montogomery could be an interesting guy to watch if Cobb's injury lingers.
