Panthers cut #4 WR Jason Carter

The Carolina Panthers signed veteran safety Kevin Kaesviharn on Monday after starting free safety Charles Godfrey needed surgery to repair a broken bone in his right hand.

To make room on the roster the Panthers cut wide receiver Jason Carter, one of the big surprises of last year's training camp before he tore up his knee in the third preseason game and landed on injured reserve.

By cutting Carter, the team’s No. 4 receiver spot remains up in the air between Kenny Moore, Ryne Robinson and a host of others.
