2026 Draft note
Etienne rebounded from an injury-shortened 2024 to finish a surprising RB9 in 2025, though 13 total touchdowns did a lot of the heavy lifting. The efficiency profile as a rusher is middling–45th-percentile run grade, 22nd-percentile success rate, 22nd-percentile broken-tackle rate–and his value leaned more on volume and scoring opportunity in 2025. His receiving role was productive in 2025 primarily because of the touchdowns (six); his route grade ranked at the 44th percentile and his YPRR (1.05) was just above average. The move to New Orleans is the defining variable. The offensive line wasn’t very good last year, though they added guard David Edwards, who is a nice upgrade. The Saints had just 19 vacated carries entering 2026; Alvin Kamara returns, but Etienne is expected to see starter’s touches even if Kamara retains a role as a receiver. How that split shakes out will determine whether Etienne is a viable weekly RB2 or a touchdown-dependent RB2/RB3, though Etienne’s early-season outlook got a boost when Kamara sprained his MCL in August.
