Taylor was a late scratch in Week 2 giving way to the Herbert. All Herbert did was throw for 311 yards and a TD, also getting Keenan Allen involved in the passing game with a 7-96-0 line. Even Austin Ekeler was involved in the passing game with a 4-55-0 line. We'll see what the ultimate decision is for Week 3, but it seems like Herbert should be the guy going forward.

Tyrod Taylor (chest) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Chiefs.

Taylor injured his chest following pregame warmups Sunday, which resulted in rookie Herbert getting a surprise start at QB for the Chargers. Taylor's status will need to be monitored in advance of next week's game against the Panthers, but like the story said, a strong effort by Herbert on Sunday could lead to a quicker than anticipated ascension to the top of the team's depth chart for the No. 6 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
