Heavy snow collapses Metrodome roof

Heavy snow has caused the roof of the Metrodome in Minneapolis,
Minnesota, to collapse, a spokesman for the Minnesota State Patrol said Sunday.

A blizzard that hit the Midwest prompted officials Saturday night - before the roof collapsed - to postpone Sunday's scheduled NFL game between the Minneapolis Vikings and New York Giants. A statement from the Vikings cited "unsafe conditions related to the Metrodome roof and the weather."

The game was rescheduled from Sunday afternoon to Monday night, the team said.

The Giants were stranded at Kansas City International Airport on
Saturday, unable to get to Minnesota because of the snow, said team spokesman Peter John-Baptiste.

Fantasy Impact:

It now looks unlikely that the game will be played in Minnesota at all. Alternate locations are being discussed.
