Greg Jennings not opposed to shutting it down

If nothing else, the Packers and wide receiver Greg Jennings appear to be on the same page in regards to the nagging groin injury that’s hampered the Pro Bowl wide receiver early this season.

On Monday, both McCarthy and Jennings admitted they’ve given consideration to shutting down the wide receiver until his injury fully heals after initially becoming an issue during the regular-season opener against San Francisco on Sept. 9.

Jennings, who has yet to visit a doctor this week, said he always expects to play, but added he’d consider sitting out after suffering two setbacks with the ailment, including after his 9-yard touchdown catch during Sunday’s 28-27 win over New Orleans.

Fantasy Impact:

The move makes sense for the long haul after again injuring his groin. James Jones could get the start with Jordy Nelson, and, Randall Cobb would likely get more looks as well. Jones will make for a potentially great pickup this week as the Packers take on the Colts.
