Delhomme leaves game because of a chest injury

The Panthers lifted beleaguered QB Jake Delhomme because of a chest injury, replacing him with backup Matt Moore in the fourth quarter of the game against the Cardinals.

Delhomme was 7-of-14 passing for 90 yards and one touchdown before exiting, and the Panthers led 31-21. The performance came after a week in which Delhomme’s status as Carolina’s starter seemed shaky until coach John Fox said he would stick with the veteran.

Delhomme entered the game with just four touchdown passes and an NFL-high 13 interceptions this season.
