Chiago Bears cut RB Chester Taylor

A year ago, the Chicago Bears made running back Chester Taylor one of the first players to sign in free agency.

Today, they made him one of their first cuts on the final day to trim down to the 53-man roster.

Taylor had split the facility on Monday after a meeting with coach Lovie Smith, believing he had been released. The Bears said it was a misunderstanding. So, Taylor returned, played Thursday night and now he's gone because the Bears could not trade him.

Taylor averaged 2.38 yards per carry last season, the lowest by a running back with a minimum of 100 attempts since the merger in 1970. He’ll be 32 later this month but has a track record for durability and should catch on somewhere.

Fantasy Impact:

The move solidifies Marion Barber as Matt Forte's backup.
