Bengals QB Joe Burrow is going to the hospital to be checked for a possible throat contusion.

Well that’s a bit scary. Here’s hoping Burrow is ok. He did all he could to pull the upset of the Packers. He went 26/38 for 281 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, one of them being on the first play of overtime. We’ll keep an eye on his status, hopefully it’s nothing too serious. The Bengals visit the Lions next week. For the record, Brandon Allen is the Bengals’ backup quarterback.

Cincinnati Bengals fans may not see center Trey Hopkins or Joe Burrow dress for a preseason game. And that’s OK.

What Hopkins and Burrow have shown Zac Taylor in practice has been enough. The third-year head coach is confident he’ll have both in the starting lineup on Sept. 12 when the Bengals host the Minnesota Vikings, regardless of if they take a preseason snap or not.

The story said Burrow could see preseason action this week but that's yet to be determined. Taylor said the team will take a couple of more days to decide but they seem just fine giving Burrow more rest leading up to Sept. 12. Burrow tore his ACL and MCL back in Week 11 of the 2020 season.

I also thought it was Ja’Marr Chase’s best practice so far with a TD in 7-on-7s.

It's good to see from the Bengals, as we've seen several reports this summer about their offense struggling. We also had a report about Chase on Monday that painted a picture of him struggling with separation and drops. So it's perhaps a turning point for the Bengals today.

Burrow also appeared to lift his left leg - the one that he had ACL and MCL surgery on - to keep it from getting hit during one play.

Morrison and Dehner speculate that Burrow may be thinking about getting hit, which is natural coming off major surgery but also a concern that could plague the second-year quarterback as he tries to get ready for the season.

Offensive continuity is more likely to improve as camp progresses, but Burrow's potential concerns with his left leg is a must-watch in the coming weeks.

The Bengals and doctors were encouraged by what they saw in the imaging of Joe Burrow's knee.

Garafolo said he was surprised by the reports Monday that Burrow's injury was worse than what was expected. Garafolo compared the Burrow injury to that of Carson Wentz. Wentz was injured in December of 2017 but came back after missing the first two games of 2018. As Garafolo said, yes, it's a multi-ligament injury, but the Bengals are optimistic about 2021 and beyond.

Schefter went on to say the types of knee injuries like Burrow suffered, usually sideline players anywhere from 9-12 months, though each person heals and rehabs differently. Unfortunately that now means no matter how quickly Burrow does or doesn’t recover, next year’s status is now in question. It's possible Burrow won't be ready to go in Week 1 of 2021.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow has established chemistry with WR Tyler Boyd, according to Mitch Stacy of the Associated Press. Stacy also mentioned the developing chemistry between Burrow and rookie WR Tee Higgins and the slow start for WR A.J. Green.

Burrow has looked like a rookie QB at times, but the connection he has with Tyler Boyd is impossible to miss. The two connected for 10 catches on 13 targets in Week 3, and Boyd has 18 catches over the past two games. Boyd is the WR1 in Cincinnati and will continue to be peppered with targets.
