Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin returns to practice in limited fashion

Good news for the Bucs: Star WR Chris Godwin is expected to practice today for the first time and he’ll be limited. Part of his return to play process, but a very good sign.

Related Players: Mike Evans, Emeka Egbuka, Jalen McMillan

Fantasy Impact:

Certainly a good sign of things to come, but Godwin is still expected to be a few weeks away from hitting the field. In the meantime, Evans and Egbuka should be started everywhere, and we'll have to revisit the potential target share issues when the time comes.

Fantasy Impact:

Things are looking pretty bad for the Dolphins offense at this point, but we shouldn't worry about Waddle quite yet. Continue to consider him a WR3 if he gets a full practice in my week's end.

49ers QB Brock Purdy a "long shot" to play Week 2

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan says QB Brock Purdy won't practice today because of his toe and shoulder injuries and views him as a "long shot" to play.

Sounds like Mac Jones will be getting his first start with the 49ers.

Fantasy Impact:

49ers are once again being brutalized by injury. Normally we'd expect a downturn in production for skill players but Ricky Pearsall and Christian McCaffrey are basically the only two remaining, so we're not benching them. Jones should be considered a low-end QB2 in this or subsequent starts.

Chiefs are not considering IR for WR Xavier Worthy

Chiefs coach Andy Reid says WR Xavier Worthy continues to rehab. He won't practice today. Surgery and a potential IR stint are not being considered at this time.

Fantasy Impact:

The rumor is, the team will try to have Worthy play through the injury with a brace, but we shouldn't expect him back out on the field in Week 2. Brown is the most obvious beneficiary, and should be considered a fringe WR2/3. Smith-Schuster will operate underneath with a limited ceiling while Thornton is a desperation boom/bust play.
