Browns RB Quinshon Judkins placed on IR

Browns running back Quinshon Judkins had surgery to repair his fractured fibula and dislocated ankle on Tuesday morning.

The team also announced that Judkins has officially been placed on injured reserve.

The Browns announced that the surgery went well and that Judkins is expected to make a full recovery. He is expected to be able to resume football activities at some point in the next 4-6 months, the story went on to say. The Browns are said to be hopeful to have Sampson return to the lineup this week. Raheim Sanders got 11 carries after Judkins went out, so if Sampson is unable to go, it's worth noting Sanders could get an increased workload. Williams also had three carries last week and would likely get touches as well. Those needing help at RB in the finals should keep track of Sampson's status leading up to the Browns game against the Steelers.

Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy will not play against the Lions on Christmas due to a right hand injury.

X-rays taken of the hand after McCarthy was injured in last Sunday’s win over the Giants came back negative, but head coach Kevin O’Connell said on Tuesday that further imaging on the injury showed that McCarthy suffered a hairline fracture.

McCarthy has been ruled out for Thursday's Christmas Day game, and Brosmer will make his second start of the season. The story went on to say O’Connell said that McCarthy will not be placed on injured reserve and the team will evaluate his status for Week 18 after Thursday’s game. It's worth noting the Vikings skill players will take a hit here with Brosmer under center.

Fantasy Impact:

We speculated Monday who could get more work with Metcalf possibly not in the lineup. A heavy run approach and more chances for the Steeler TEs seems like a much more likely result. As the post said, Wilson has been a healthy scratch the last three weeks. He would be a risk for fantasy lineups.
