The Bengals have released QB Trevor Siemian.

Burrow is hopeful to be ready for Week 1, but perhaps owners in superflex dynasty leagues were rostering Siemian as an emergency replacement. Browning now looks to be the QB2 for the Bengals as we get closer to the start of the season.

Burrow suffered the injury yesterday while rolling to his right with no one around him when he pulled up. He went directly to the ground and didn't get up until the cart approached. Calf strain is the best possible scenario, but this timeline also puts him up against a Week 1 start. There's a chance we see a free-agent signing to compete in a camp battle, which isn't the greatest news for the Bengals' offense as a whole. We'll keep an eye on the situation for further developments.

It's unknown the severity of the injury but the quarterback tore his left ACL and MCL during the 2020 season that put him on IR from Week 11-on.

Minnesota placed quarterbacks Kirk Cousins, Kellen Mond and Nate Stanley on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Monday. Rookie receiver Myron Mitchell has also been placed on the list.

Mond recently tested positive for COVID-19, and Cousins and Stanley are considered high-risk close contacts under the NFL and NFLPA's COVID-19 protocols, leading to their removal from activities Saturday. Browning is the lone QB not on the list and is expected to get the reps.
