BREAKING NEWS: Giants/Vikings Shifted to Monday Night

The inclimate weather that has blanketed Minnesota with snow this weekend has forced the Vikings and Giants to postpone their Week 14 matchup.

The two teams were scheduled to meet on Sunday at noon CT, but league officials have now moved the game to Monday. The time has yet to be announced.

The NFL issued the following statement: "Due to the severe weather conditions and on the recommendation of Metrodome officials, the Giants-Vikings game will be moved to Monday night. The kickoff time at the Metrodome and television arrangements will be announced as soon as they are determined."

The Giants had decided to spend the night in Kansas City, Mo., where its flight from New Jersey had been diverted because of a blizzard that shut down Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Saturday.

The Giants had hoped to reach Minneapolis on Saturday night, and they even planned to hold their Saturday walkthrough in the Kansas City airport.

Weather forecasts called for steady snow in Minneapolis until the evening, then clearing skies. Sunday's forecast: Sunny but extremely cold, with wind chill approaching negative-25 degrees.

The Vikings play indoors at the Metrodome.

Fantasy Impact:

This changes everything regarding players who were slated to be game-time decisions - Hakeem Nicks, Steve Smith, and Brett Favre. A noon start would have been ideal. An extra day might help all three players, but at this point it might be best to look at other options for your lineup, unless you have someone like Mario Manningham that you can plug in for Nicks or Smith.
