QB Nick Mullens has been informed that he’s the team’s No. 2 quarterback. C.J. Beathard is No. 3.

Shanahan says Mullens will be his starting QB this week.

Mullens has trended down since his hot start against the Raiders, which includes leading the 9ers to just nine points against the Bucs defense this past week. This week Mullens gets the nod against against the Seahawks.

A quarterback change could be on the table for the 49ers this week.

“I don’t think [Nick Mullens] played very well, just looking at some of our situations, but that wasn’t all on him,” Shanahan said, via the San Francisco Chronicle. “No one played very well, especially in the passing game.”

Mullens was 18-of-32 for 221 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions against the Buccaneers in Sunday’s 27-9 loss. The story said the team evaluates the QB position every week so it's possible a switch back to Beathard takes place for Week 13.

Coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed Nick Mullens will remain the 49ers' starting quarterback following a Week 11 bye, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.

On the heels of two mostly steady performances from Mullens and the offense, Shanahan will stick with the undrafted quarterback during the team's next game Nov. 25 at Tampa Bay. Accounting from those outings reveals 70-percent passing (43 of 61), 256 yards per game and four touchdowns versus two interceptions from Mullens as San Francisco averaged 28.5 points per contest. At least for the foreseeable future, Mullens will fend off C.J. Beathard for reps under center.
