When Mike Martz became Chicago's offensive coordinator earlier this year, Martz had envisioned Devin Hester as a slot receiver in the mold of Az-Zahir Hakim, who was a key part of Martz's famous offense in St. Louis. Now Martz sees Hester taking on a bigger role.
"He's our starter," Martz said. "I think he's an elite wide receiver. There's no question about that. We've got all kinds of new things for him. We're moving him all over. You'll see him line up anywhere. Shoot, he might line up as a tight end occasionally, who knows. We'll see."
Devin Aromashodu and Johnny Knox will be touted as fantasy sleepers in a lot of places, but Hester is the most accomplished wide receiver on the Bears roster. For fantasy owners buying into the concept of the Chicago offense being a high-powered one with Martz at the helm, Hester is a guy to target. None of the three would be considered sure-fire weekly starters at this point, but all three possess the potential to make an impact.
