Running back Peyton Hillis missed practice for the third straight day Friday with sore ribs and is listed as questionable for Sunday against the Steelers and their No. 1-ranked run defense.
"I'm still optimistic he'll be able to play," said coach Eric Mangini. "I feel pretty good about it, but we'll see."
If Hillis is limited during the game, the Browns will rely on Mike Bell and also use Joshua Cribbs in the backfield, both in the wildcat formation and maybe in the regular offense.
No Browns RBs should be counted on in a matchup with the Steelers.
