Andre Roberts says the Redskins will be pass-heavy
Wednesday, March 19, 2014, 10:58am
“When you have a guy that talented, that’s that motivated and willing to work, the sky’s the limit. Being a receiver, having a quarterback like that, that’s what you want, especially in a passing offense which we will be in now for the most part. When you have a quarterback that’s motivated and coming off the year he had with a chip on his shoulder, that’s what you want as a receiver.”
A passing offense? The Redskins were more run-oriented the past two years (or wanted to be; trailing so often last season altered those plans). Roberts said he based that comment on knowing Gruden’s style with Cincinnati and also after talking with former Arizona quarterback John Skelton, who spent last offseason and preseason with the Bengals.
We know Gruden likes to throw the ball, so Alfred Morris's stock is taking a hit. He'll still be a solid RB2 in standard formats, but since he doesn't do much in the passing game, he'll need a heavy rushing workload to reach RB1 status again.

At the beginning of camp, we thought that the backup quarterback battle was going to be extremely close, but Josh Johnson has a pretty big lead going into the first game over John Skelton. We knew Johnson had command of the playbook due to his experience in a West Coast offense, but he has shown great touch on his passes, especially the deep balls. It will be interesting to see if this competition gets closer when preseason games start.

He's the crop's best runner, he can throw it deep, and he knows the system. Meanwhile, John Skelton is adjusting to the West Coast offense and Zac Robinson is bouncing back from missing the last part of the spring workouts when he rested his arm.
Johnson looks like the favorite to back up Andy Dalton, who we rank 17th with an ADP of the 12th round.
Arians targeting 100 receptions, 10-15 TDs for Larry Ftzgerald

“It was a down year, and it’s nice to see him on a mission right now to get back to where he was, and rightfully so. He’s a premier player and we need to have him back up over 100 catches and 10-15 touchdowns.”
Under Arians, Colts WR Reggie Wayne finished 2012 with 106-1355-5, but Wayne was also helped by the arrival of QB Andrew Luck. Fitzgerald should also see an improvement in QB with Carson Palmer under center. Palmer is no savior, but he should provide at least mediocre play at QB which will be a big improvement from the three-headed monster of Kevin Kolb, John Skelton and Ryan Lindley. We're expecting a bounce-back season for Fitzy, who still is among the most-talented WRs in the NFL.
