Jets receiver Brandon Marshall said Monday that he's now at his rookie playing weight, 230 pounds -- 13 pounds lighter than he was at the beginning of the offseason. So what's his secret?
Marshall said he and his wife spotted the TV infomercial while vacationing in St. Bart's and they were immediately intrigued. His wife has lost about 20 pounds, he said.
"I heard Michael Strahan, in his Hall of Fame speech, say when you get older, you've got to lose a little pounds," Marshall, 31, said while sporting a "South Shore LI-NY" cap. "I think they say every pound equals five pounds of pressure on your joints . . . The better you take care of your body, you put yourself and your team in a better chance to win."
Marshall was frustrating last year and also suffers a downgrade in QB going from the Bears to the Jets in 2015. Even if healthy, he's projecting to be a lower-end WR2 or high end WR3 this season. He and Eric Decker are a solid 1-2 punch but the QB situation in NY is unstable.
