Squirrel’s Nuts & Bolts: Commanders - 49ers MNF Showdown Strategy (Week 6 NFL DFS)

Week 6 of the NFL season wraps up with an NFC Showdown between the Commanders and the 49ers at Levi’s Stadium. Kickoff is 8:15 PM ET, and the 49ers are favored by 7.5 points at home, with the total set at 50.5 points.

The 49ers are 5-0 and rank third in the league at 30.8 points per game. Brock Purdy leads the league with 13 touchdown passes, and he has thrown just two interceptions on 142 attempts. Christian McCaffrey won Comeback Player of the Year last season after finishing second in the league with 2,126 scrimmage yards, and his 924 receiving yards were the most by a running back. He has scored in four straight games, but he has yet to reach 20 touches in a game this season after averaging more than 24 per game last year. Deebo Samuel (hamstring) is out after getting hurt in the 32-29 win in Seattle, and Mike Evans (ribs, Achilles) is a game-time decision after missing practice all week. Evans leads the team with 34 targets and 326 receiving yards, and he caught seven of 10 targets for 113 yards and a touchdown against the Seahawks, his first 100-yard game with the 49ers. George Kittle’s four touchdown catches are tied for the most among tight ends.

The Commanders are 1-3-1 after a 27-27 tie with the Giants last week. Jayden Daniels missed two games after dislocating his left elbow for the second time in less than a year, and he ran nine times for 103 yards and two touchdowns in his return, while completing 17 of 25 passes for 199 yards. Leading rusher Jacory Croskey-Merritt (groin) is out, which leaves the backfield to Rachaad White and Austin Ekeler. White ran seven times for 18 yards in his return from a shoulder injury last week, while Ekeler has 28 rushing yards on the season. Stefon Diggs (hamstring) is questionable after missing the Giants game, and he leads the team with 18 catches and three receiving touchdowns. Washington has allowed 14 touchdown passes, tied with the Lions and Cardinals for the most in the league at 2.8 per game.

This Showdown gives us a 50.5-point total, the league leader in touchdown passes, and a 49ers receiving corps without Samuel and possibly without Evans. Let’s break down this Monday night NFC Showdown, highlight the key plays, and uncover the strategies that could help you climb the leaderboards.
